South Lamar Boulevard Corridor Improvement Program, Austin, TX
South Lamar Boulevard is one of Austin’s most congested corridors, and one that has experienced significant new development over the past decade. McCann Adams Studio served as the lead urban design consultant under HDR Engineers for a City-initiated Corridor improvement program aimed at enhancing South Lamar as a Complete Street. The project recommendations include a comprehensive program of mobility improvements including enhanced sidewalks and streetscape, protected bikeways, and transit improvements including signal pre-emption and “queue-jump” lanes.
